Welcome

Welcome to the new web pages of the Nanotech West Laboratory of The Ohio State University.

We are in the process of completing the renaming of our lab from its former identity as the Ohio MicroMD Laboratory, and we appreciate your patience as we rebuild this web site. In the meantime, we are placing these few but important pages on the web to continue to serve our current and future users that depend on Nanotech West for their research, development, and commercialization activities in the field of micro- and nanostructures.

The renaming of Nanotech West is the result of several equally important factors. These include the desire to rename the lab as it has changed from a contract-based resource to a true user facility; the need to capture the significant amount of electronic, optic, and materials research that the former name did not; and the requirement that the new name reflect the true nanotechnology research activities that happen everyday here in our class 100 cleanroom, our extensive Biohybrid Laboratory, and in our new lab annex spaces at 1381 Kinnear Road on the West Campus of Ohio State.

The new name is also indicative of new major activities at Nanotech West as a result of the NSF-sponsored Nanotechnology Science and Engineering Center for Affordable Nanoengineering of Polymeric Biomedical Devices, the Wright Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials and Devices, the new OSU Institute for Materials Research, and the newly-announced future Wright Center for Photovoltaics Innovation and Commercialization, or PVIC.

We hope that you will continue to monitor these web pages as they capture the breadth of the research, development, facilities and equipment, and people that comprise Nanotech West.
